PEAK Launches New Enterprise Printing Solution (EPS) for SAP Users
COLUMBIA, Md. (October 6, 2009) - PEAK Technologies, a Platinum Equity company, today announced it has launched a new Enterprise Printing Solution (EPS) for SAP users that simplifies mission-critical/production printing and management.  EPS for SAP allows users to monitor, test, troubleshoot, and reset label printers from a central cockpit, and minimize downtime by having all necessary WYSIWYG generated label formats and images stored within the EPS for SAP environment. EPS for SAP also informs users and supervisors of any printing errors, validates production line processes, identifies which printers are statistically unavailable and shows total utilization information.

"The EPS for SAP solution combined with PEAK's SAP printer integration services allows users to seamlessly deploy label formats and printers into their existing SAP application infrastructure," said Dave Perrine, vice president of enterprise solutions, PEAK Technologies. "EPS for SAP enables our customers to effectively align the SAP environment with their key internal mission-critical business processes."

Key technical capabilities of the EPS for SAP solution include:

  • Allows enterprises to use the same application code and print stream; regardless of printer manufacturer
  • Bi-directional printer communication provides superior printer management
  • Label storage in SAP using SAPScript, SmartForm, Standard Text, or Adobe forms.
  • Standard SAP communications to external interfaces/devices
  • Communication to and for non-standard interfaces/devices over TCP/IP Sockets via the J2EE to ABAP interface.
  • Invoked using single ABAP function
  • Supports standard SAP output determination, mobile and web-based printing.
  • Communications to non-SAP systems via standard interfaces.

EPS for SAP is part of the PEAK Automation Controller (PAC) product suite which allows SAP users to seamlessly deploy, integrate and manage label applicators and printers, RFDC terminals, RFID devices and discrete warehouse and shop floor devices into their existing infrastructure in order for companies to maintain an SAP-centric application environment.
