Columbia, Maryland (March 10, 2005) — PEAK Technologies, an RR Donnelley company (NYSE:RRD), announced today that it has been named as an Authorized XML Printer Specialist by Zebra Technologies in support of SAP AG’s Auto-ID Infrastructure (AII) and Oracle’s RFID and Sensor-Based Services. The Zebra Authorized XML Printer Specialist status is granted to a limited number of value-added resellers and systems integrators in North America. PEAK achieved this privileged status by meeting Zebra’s authorization criteria, including in-depth training, dedicated XML/RFID integration resources, and technical proficiency.
Zebra recently announced the introduction of the world’s first RFID smart label printer/encoders designed to interoperate with SAP’s Auto-ID Infrastructure and Oracle RFID and Sensor-Based Services. PEAK is among the first Zebra Authorized XML Printer Specialists with the ability to provide a complete RFID solution for SAP and Oracle clients including business consulting, project management and ongoing enterprise services to companies with multiple sites throughout North America. The ease of integrating an XML-enabled solution into an enterprise system lowers customization and programming costs associated with implementation. Because XML-enabled printing is a direct-connect solution, there are no licensing fees or additional server hardware requirements. With the Authorized XML Printer Specialist status, PEAK is fully authorized to sell, install, and service Zebra's line of industry-leading XML printers. The newly launched authorization program also allows PEAK to receive priority access to Zebra XML training and forums, including special presentations and webcasts. ”As PEAK continues to be a formidable force in the ERP integration market by utilizing SAP and Oracle centric solutions, our ongoing partnership with Zebra is extremely important and mutually beneficial,” Adrian Thomas, PEAK President and CEO said. “It enables us to design and provide more effective and reliable printing solutions to our enterprise clients. Our new status as a Zebra Authorized XML Printer Specialist strengthens this relationship and further validates PEAK’s ability to deliver Zebra’s full suite of enterprise printing solutions.” “We are extremely excited to welcome PEAK Technologies as one of Zebra’s authorized XML specialists,” said Victor Salmons, Director of Product Management for Zebra. “Our goal is to ensure that Zebra partners around the world are fully trained and authorized to supply and support a complete XML-based solution in their local markets. In achieving the status of a Zebra-authorized XML specialist, PEAK has the distinct advantage of offering and delivering an exceptional solution with Zebra-based offerings.” About PEAK Technologies PEAK Technologies, an RR Donnelley company, is an international provider of automatic identification and data collection (AIDC) systems, enterprise mobility solutions and ongoing service and support.
