OPI specializes in helping customers solve business challenges and manage the entire lifecycle of supply chain solutions such as e-commerce, click and collect, interactive kiosk, personal shopping solutions, RFID, mobility, and wireless technology projects. OPI is headquartered in Littleton, MA.  The combination of Peak Technologies’ extensive service offering designed to make supply chains more efficient combined with OPI’s self-service kiosk, enterprise mobility and wireless technology integration expertise will yield significant new value for customers and deliver an exceptional customer experience.

2011–2020 – Accelerating Growth & Building Customer Value

In 2011, Peak Technologies was acquired by Keystone Capital (Chicago, IL). Keystone is focused on working hand-in-hand with their management teams to create long-term value. Keystone believes in investing its own capital rather than raising capital from third parties which affords their operating companies with tremendous flexibility. It provides Keystone with a risk-return profile in sync with Peak’s management team, and allows Keystone to make decisions based on long-term goals while forging a true partnership with their management teams.

Under Keystone’s ownership, PEAK Technologies executed on its largest and most significant transaction through the acquisition of Ryzex (Bellingham, WA) in 2011. Since the acquisition of Ryzex, the organization has undergone a major transformation, dramatically expanding resources, increasing its solutions offering, strengthening the geographic presence and merging back-end business operations and processes through SAP and other systems to become ONE Peak Technologies. The combined companies officially became Peak Technologies on November 1, 2012.

Now more than 400 employees strong, Peak Technologies delivers the financial strength, international presence, solutions expertise, and the depth and breadth of experience needed to support even the most extensive and sophisticated enterprise.

From 2012 until today, Peak Technologies has been focused on expanding its solutions and services portfolio and building customer value. Peak Technologies’ last two acquisitions, Manage Mobility (Alpharetta, GA) and M-Netics (Chippenham, UK) have dramatically increased the company’s software and services capabilities.

Manage Mobility by Peak Technologies enables enterprises to manage their mobile workers, devices, applications and wireless carriers through a cloud-based management service, all leading to increased levels of operational efficiencies and employee productivity.

Mobile technology solutions provider M-Netics was founded in 2004. M-Netics is focused on the development of pioneering, leading edge software such as the IM2 Enterprise Mobility Suite. M-Netics has over 15,000 users running its applications. M-Netics solutions cover retail (in-store and back office), supply chain, mobile worker and proof of delivery requirements. Customers include leading logistics providers, manufacturers, retailers and field service organizations.

Today’s Peak Technologies is an end-to-end Provider of Supply Chain, Mobility and Retail Solutions.

2005–2011 – Strengthening our Financials & Building our Infrastructure

In 2005, the company returned to private ownership when Platinum Equity (Beverly Hills, CA) acquired Peak Technologies from RR Donnelley. Under Platinum ownership, the company named Ross Young President and CEO of Peak Technologies Inc. with the mission of improving profitability and the balance sheet and building an infrastructure that was scalable, while streamlining processes and divesting of non-core assets.

During this time, Peak Technologies moved corporate headquarters to a new modern facility in Columbia, MD (10330 Old Columbia Road). The new facility featured a state-of-the-art technology infrastructure which allowed Peak to offer numerous improvements in customer service and communications. The company also upgraded its ERP system and implemented SAP to enable the company to address its dynamic business processes and ever-changing customer requirements and the unique opportunity to leverage efficiencies with the company’s suppliers and customers.

In 2009, under Mr. Young’s leadership, Peak Technologies made its first acquisition in almost fourteen years by acquiring Integrated Labeling Systems (Nashua, NH).

1998–2004 – Acquisitions & Industry Accolades

In 1998, Peak Technologies began a new chapter in the evolution of the company after it was acquired by Moore Corporation Limited. Moore Corporation, a leader in the pressure sensitive labels and forms market, saw the synergy of acquiring the global leader in Bar Code Data Capture Products and Solutions to help drive label and printing supplies sales within the organization.

In 1999, the company began to capitalize on the extensive capabilities it had amassed through its acquisition strategy and began to evolve the business from a VAR model to a systems integration and solutions model.

To further build on its systems integration capabilities, the company launched a professional services practice to focus on customer’s running the SAP ERP system in their supply chain operations. In another significant development in the company’s history, the iconic bar code was eliminated from the Peak Technologies logo as the company repositioned to a solutions and services focus.

In 2000, Peak Technologies celebrated its growing business by winning all major AIDC vendor awards including: Symbol Technologies Top Revenue Producer, Zebra Technologies Top Reseller, Intermec Top Systems Partner, Highest Revenue and Printronix’s Top Reseller.

In 2003, Moore Corporation Limited and Wallace Computer Services combined. During this year, Peak also was recognized by VAR Business magazine as one of the top 150 Largest Solutions Providers in North America.

In 2004, RR Donnelley acquired Moore Wallace which included the Peak Technologies business. During this year, as further evidence that the company continued to add solutions capabilities, Peak Technologies and its growing SAP professional services practice was among the first integrators in the country to help SAP customers achieve compliance for Wal-Mart’s RFID initiative.

During this six year period in the company’s history, Peak Technologies continued to grow and helped thousands of companies get their wireless data capture and barcode printing systems safely and effectively implemented. This proven success positioned PEAK Technologies to be the industry’s most trusted and experienced international provider of bar code-based systems and services.

1981–1995 – Building our Capabilities and Coverage

PEAK Technologies was incorporated in 1981 during the heart of the bar code revolution followed by strategic acquisitions of automatic identification and data collection (AIDC) solution providers throughout the world. These strategic acquisitions created the nucleus of the new PEAK Technologies and merged the infrastructure, products, processes and people of each company to form the first significant international AIDC solutions provider.

Each value added reseller that joined the PEAK organization provided a unique technical proficiency and experience base to the new company. The union of these organizations brought together specific expertise in bar code printing, wireless radio frequency data collection systems and onsite printer service.

The acquisitions and mergers during this period included: Logon, Inc., Telpar, Inc., MESA Technology Corporation, Gentry Associates, Inc., Group Three Electronics, Inc., Concord Technologies, Inc., NACO Electronics Group, VisionData, Endata Group Limited, Innovative Products & Peripherals Corporation (IPPC), Dytec, Numeric Arts Limited, AccuScan, Mandata, Datapen Systems Limited, and ISF.

In 1992, Peak Technologies leveraged the financial success of its acquisition strategy and completed an initial public offering (IPO) and was briefly traded as a public company until it was acquired a few years later.

In 1994, Peak Technologies was named Channel Partner of the Year by NORAND and Reseller of the Year by Symbol Technologies.

In 1995, after almost a decade of building a global leader through an aggressive acquisition strategy, Peak was privileged to be named by Venture Development Corporation (VDC) as:

The world’s largest independent supply chain, retail and mobile solutions provider
